Hunter's care free range of cool mist personal humidifiers are generally considered to offer the lowest maintenance currently available. All humidifiers require regular cleaning - a task that few people enjoy. At least with a Hunter care free humidifier this cleaning process happens less often.
Be careful to read reviews of the individual model you are considering before purchase. Some hunter humidifiers unfortunately have a reputation for being noisier than other brands, though some models are worse than others. Generally speaking, the newer models are much quieter than the older ones so hopefully this problem is now in the past.
